Great news for Aussies and Kiwis!

Now you can enter Ukraine without a proper visa! You can get one from 20 Euros (510 Ukrainian Hryvna) at the border!

NOTE THAT: If you arrive in Borispol Airport after 19:00 (7PM) and specially weekends you might have trouble to get a visa, at least this is the recent experience ! So try to find flights arriving during daytime, that’s our advice so far, even if it’s not an official information. The visa office have been closed around 7:30PM and re-opens next day around 9AM, however holidays or some weekends, the officials are not coming to work :/

Attention:

This short term (15 days) visa can be issued only at 3 border crosses: Borispol Airport in Kiev (KBP), Port and Airport in Odessa.

Looks like it is NOT POSSIBLE yet to issue the visa in Kiev Zhuliany Airport (IEV), so be careful booking your flights!

And now some official statements:

According to the decision of the Government of Ukraine on March 2, 2016 citizens of Australia and New Zealand traveling to Ukraine for tourism have the ability to issue permission to enter Ukraine (single entry visa) at checkpoints across the State Border of Ukraine (Kyiv Airport (Boryspil), Odessa Airport and Odessa Sea Port) for up to 15 days in case of the documents proving the tourist nature of the trip (hotel booking, excursion booking, travel voucher or contract for the provision of tourist services).

Payment for this permission to enter Ukraine (single entry visa) is 510 Ukrainian hryvna (20 Euros).
